Maliki Fiqh Course (Online & In-Person)

The Maliki Fiqh course will guide students step by step through an overview of the Maliki school of law. Classes will be taught in English, though intermediate Arabic proficiency would be beneficial. Classes will be offered both in person and online, without any fees, the only requirement is a sincere desire to learn and to put lessons into practice.

Stage 1 – Foundations of Worship

Books: Akhdari & al-Murshid al-Mu‘een

Focus: purification, prayer, fasting, zakat, and Hajj

Duration: 4–5 months

Stage 2 – Intermediate: Worship, Transactions & Usul

Books: Risalah of Abu Zayd al-Qayrawani & Usul al-Madhhab al-Maliki (Ibn Abi Kif)

Focus: worship, transactions, social dealings (contracts, trade, marriage, divorce, family law), and key Maliki principles and methodology

Duration: 6–8 months

Stage 3 – Intermediate: Transactions & Usul (Continuation)

Books: Risalah of Abu Zayd al-Qayrawani (continued) & al-Waraqat 

Focus: family law, commercial law, inheritance, judiciary, and classical usul terminology

Duration: 6–8 months

Shaykh Omar Amir Al-Azhari

Shaykh Omar Amir Al-Azhari, a graduate of the prestigious Al-Azhar University, was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. Over the past eight years, he has studied—and continues to study—Maliki Fiqh under esteemed scholars, including Shaykh Ahmed al-Maghili, Shaykh Walead Mosaad, and others.

He has also studied Hadith with Shaykh Osamh Mansi, a senior student of Sayyid Muhammad ‘Alawi al-Maliki. and Shaykh Umer Mien, and pursued Arabic Grammar and Balāghah under Shaykh Mohamed Hasan Othman. In addition, Shaykh Omar has undertaken extensive studies in ‘Aqidah, Usul al-Fiqh, and Logic with distinguished traditional scholars.

His primary areas of focus are Maliki Fiqh and Tasawwuf. He continues to receive spiritual guidance from Shaykh Abul Huda al-Shadhili.

Previously, Shaykh Omar served as a faculty member at Al-Maqasid Seminary for five years. He is currently the founder and instructor at Revival Ihya.
