Course Overview:

This 15-week course offers a child-friendly introduction to the spiritual and ethical teachings of Islam, designed specifically for children aged 6 to 12. Centered around the poetry of Ibn Ashr, the course combines memorization, reflection, and interactive learning to foster both spiritual growth and ethical behavior. Children will engage with key Islamic principles in a way that is accessible and meaningful to their age group.

Key Topics Covered:

  • Repentance (Tawba): Understanding the importance of saying sorry to Allah and seeking forgiveness.
  • Piety (Taqwa): Learning to follow Allah’s commands and avoid bad actions.
  • Ethical Conduct: Teaching good manners, respect, and responsibility in using the body (eyes, ears, tongue, hands, feet).
  • The Heart & Spiritual Diseases: Identifying and overcoming negative traits like jealousy and pride.
  • Self-Accountability (Muhasabat al-Nafs): Encouraging children to reflect on their actions and learn from their mistakes.
  • Spiritual Practices: Fun and engaging ways to remember Allah, practice patience, gratitude, and love.
  • Core Principles: Developing honesty, kindness, and awareness of Allah in daily life.

Memorization Focus:
Children will memorize 26 lines from Ibn Ashr’s poem on Taswaf, using simple and interactive techniques tailored to young learners.

Instructor: Ustadh Omar Amir was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. He began memorizing the Qur’an in 2016 with Sheikh Haggag Saber from Al-Azhar University. In 2018, Omar completed the one-year Advanced Arabic program at Al-Maqasid Seminary. For the last five years, he has studied Fiqh, Tasawwuf, and Aqidah with Sheikh Walead Mossad and Hadith, Usul al-Hadith, and Aqidah with Sheikh Umer Mien. Omar studied Aqidah, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Logic with well trained traditional  scholars. Omar received an Ijaza in teaching al-Ājurrūmiyyah with Shaykh Mohamed Hasan Othman. Omar is pursuing the sacred sciences at Al-Azhar University. Since 2019, Omar has served as a faculty member at Al-Maqasid Seminary. Omar is the co-founder and teacher at Revival Ihya. He also serves as an instructor for the Dar al-Rayyan (Sabeel Community) Traditional Studies Program.
 

Course Features:

  • Schedule: 4 sessions per week, 30 minutes each (Monday to Thursday)
